Wah, Taj! That was my first expression when I witnessed the grandness of the Taj. The
Taj Mahal is undeniably the most famous example of Mughal architecture.Once
you reach the place, all you have to do is buy a ticket for Rs. 20 (for
Indians), scan your bag, and get in to witness the most amazing Wonder of the
World.
Since
this was my first visit to the Taj, I wanted it to be a memorable one. Heard
about the saying, ‘When in Rome, do as the Romans do’? And that’s exactly what I
wanted to do! I wanted to blend in well with Agra's atmosphere and aura - classic and authentic.
The
structure is distinguished as the finest example of Mughal architecture, a
blend of Indian, Persian, and Islamic styles. After a thorough research on the
weather, people who visit the Taj, the locality, I decided to wear an elegant
kurta and churidar (Indian wear). And since Diwali was around the corner, I
thought of adding a dash of gold to my outfit. Here’s what I was wearing:
Picked
this Kurta a week ago while I was
shopping with Mum for Diwali. I usually never wear long kurtas, but I loved the colour
and the open-jacket pattern.
Kept
the look very simple by teaming it up with a golden chudidar, a gold duppata and
a bling bag. Guess the colour really worked with the BG <3
How’s
the outfit, guys?! Let me know :)
SOME TIPS FOR AGRA:
- Wear jeans or long pants. If it’s hot, go for long and loose cotton.
- Avoid shorts and skirts. Dress according to the crowd and locality.
- Carry sunscreen (when I was there, it wasn't too hot but it’s advisable to use even if it’s not hot)
- Wear comfortable shoes. The walk is long :)
- Carry additional rubber bands for the hair, you may have to tie them up in scorching sun
- Last but not the least, carry your sunglasses
